Integrated Text (SMS) Services Available In Transactor
Winchester, United Kingdom, April 2008. Transactor Global Solutions Limited (‘TGSL’) has reached agreement with Eagle Eye Technologies to provide Transactor clients with fully integrated SMS services (‘Texting’). Thanks to the use of correct and modern technology, TGSL can provide its clients with straightforward access to their client’s mobile phones and hand held devices. “The three key questions when assessing the quality of an SMS service provider are do they use UK routes, is there a confirmation of receipt to the handheld device, and is there an SLA regarding delivery times, all of which Eagle Eye were able to provide,” explains Ray Vincent, Managing Director, TGSL. “The way we have set up SMS within Transactor allows text messages to be triggered at any point in the process in the same way that documents and emails are currently. We have also developed the capability to send structured content from templates or in free format. Equally importantly, we have got an eye to the future and we want to be first with integrated mobile phone payment. When that becomes more widely available, which it will, brokers will need to be ready for it, because it will take off very quickly!”
Basically, any objective that can be catered for within a short document can be dealt with using integrated SMS text services. Examples include sending a quoted premium to a new client, sending promotional discount codes and URL’s for driving clients on to a website, and sending policy numbers and other helpful numbers on conversion, for the client to save. Other uses may include the sending of a renewal premium and renewal reference, claims process updates, and for chase cycles on outstanding documents and other information.
“Texting is now a way of life for many people, whether for social purposes or for business and with the younger generation, a mobile phone is their main hub of communication,” comments Tony Withers, Business Development Manager, TGSL. “By extending our ECOmail module which already delivers PDF documents by email, we have introduced yet another way for our brokers to save costs compared with traditional delivery methods. The standard rate of a text message is only a few pence and when you consider the volume of contact needed in a typical policy lifecycle, the business benefits become self-evident.”
The development project has been headed up by Peter Hunter, Senior Developer, TGSL. “Transactor text messages can be attached to any existing event in Transactor as per documents and emails, and the message content can include custom policy data. We can batch up the messages and release them at a date and time for delivery to fit in with sociable hours. We can use our SMS integration in conjunction with a short code for interactive options, and provide a full audit trail of messages sent. We can also support the manual sending of free typed messages.”
