TGSL Launch Flexible Hosting Option For Transactor Clients

Winchester, United Kingdom, November 2007. Transactor Global Solutions Limited (‘TGSL’) is pleased to announce that its market-leading insurance software package Transactor is now available as a fully hosted solution, from as little as £250 per user per month.

‘Transactor is a thin application built on .Net architecture and as such is more naturally suited to operate on a hosted environment than most, if not all, of its rivals’, comments Steve Young, Commercial Director, Transactor. ‘We recognised some time ago that the hosted option maybe ideal for those brokers who don’t want the cost and complexity associated with traditional server based solutions, especially brokers looking to trade mainly on the internet. We’ve been providing hosted systems for overseas clients in the USA, Ireland, Australia and some of our London Market brokers for some time now with excellent results. Offering a cost-effective hosted option will allow us to bring Transactor’s unique blend of user configurability, flexibility, automation and performance to a much broader spectrum of the market.’

As a fully hosted ‘thin client’ solution, Transactor doesn’t rely on the users’ PC for any of its functionality, thus avoiding any potential PC upgrade or replacement costs. Everything the user needs is delivered to them over the Internet via a fully secure connection, so as long as the user has a PC that can connect to the Internet they can be up and running in minutes. Transactor’s use of Microsoft standard thin client architecture ensures remarkably little per user ‘bandwidth’ is required, allowing the use of virtually any type of Internet connection, including low-cost ADSL or SDSL connectivity.

As part of a TGSL hosted offering, Transactor clients can offer fully functional websites that include ‘quote and buy’, agent logon, MTA, renewals, cancellations, and claims capabilities to allow the broker to maximise the business generation opportunities the Internet offers. Aggregator interfaces can also be provided at extra cost.

‘We work hard to ensure that there is, in everything we do, a positive difference to the way TGSL approaches things,’ confirms Ray Vincent, Managing Director, TGSL. ‘So, unlike our competitors, we are offering Transactor clients the opportunity to convert their hosted contracts to in-house infrastructure contracts with three months notice, and with guaranteed service levels around the migration. That way, Transactor clients can be confident that if things change, either in the wider economy, or in their own businesses, they have not made an irreversible decision regarding the location of their database and associated servers. I think it will prove to be a popular option.’

Uniquely, because the Transactor application is thin client based, this move can be accomplished with ease, with TGSL managing the entire process to ensure a seamless change, providing, installing and then supporting all the necessary servers and other equipment that may be required. As with the hosted solution, all the processing work is carried out centrally on a server (or servers), with the end users PC doing none of the work to minimise the cost of implementation and onsite IT support requirement.
