Announcing Transactor 6.3

Transactor Global Solutions Limited (‘TGSL’) announces the target launch date for a brand new version of its class-leading insurance broker software solution, Transactor.

Known as Transactor Version 6.3, the new version will be the final release in the Transactor Version 6 series. The last major release was Transactor Version 6.2 in 2005.

Transactor 6.3 will run ‘native’ on 64-bit Microsoft operating systems, and will conclude the company’s migration to Version 3.5 of the .Net Framework. This is in preparation for the release of version 2 of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system. Microsoft Windows Server 2008 is the most advanced Windows Server operating system yet, designed to power the next generation of networks, applications, and Web services.

By adopting version 2 of Windows Server 2008 TGSL will be able to develop, deliver, and manage even richer user experiences and applications, provide an even more secure network infrastructure, and increase technological efficiency and value within the client’s organisation.

‘Windows Server 2008 builds on the successes and strengths of its Windows Server predecessors while delivering valuable new functionality and powerful improvements to the base operating system,’ says Danny Kingston, Infrastructure Manager, TGSL: ‘New Web tools, virtualization technologies, security enhancements, and management utilities will help save time, reduce costs, and provide a solid foundation for (IT) infrastructure.’

‘Moving completely to .NET Framework 3.5 builds incrementally on the new features added in .NET Framework 3.0’ comments Mark Rogers, Applications Manager, TGSL: ‘For example, Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows CardSpace.’

‘The intention is to launch Transactor Version 6.3 in the fourth quarter of this year’ confirms Ray Vincent, Managing Director, TGSL. ‘At that time we fully expect to be the only software vendor in the insurance vertical running their entire solution native on 64 bit architecture in version 3.5 of the framework, giving Transactor users early access to the advantages this architecture offers. Transactor 6.3 will provide an unbeatable platform for further functionality growth, and ever more cost effective change management in an insurance market where the pace of change is accelerating.’
